Greetings Friends and Families of Cowan Road Middle School,

My name is Mindy Davis and I am excited to serve as the Assistant Principal for Sixth Grade.
I am a proud wife and mother to three wonderful children who are each pursuing degrees at various universities as of this year.  Spending time with my family is where I find the most joy.  I also enjoy reading, weightlifting, and outdoor activities such as hiking and sports.

This is my nineteenth year in education.  I taught for fifteen years in Monroe County Schools at both the elementary and middle school levels and also served as a MTSS Coordinator. I joined the Griffin Spalding County School System in 2019 as an Instructional Coach at Atkinson Elementary School and in January 2022, I joined the Cowan Road Middle School family as Assistant Principal.

I am a graduate of Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Shortly thereafter, I earned my Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy.  In 2011, I graduated from Valdosta State University with my Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction and in 2017, I completed my Tier 2 Leadership certification from Valdosta State University. I also hold endorsements in Teacher Leadership, Gifted Education, and MTSS.

My passion is in teaching students, building their confidence, empowering them with a voice to advocate for themselves, and in helping them to develop a love for seeking new knowledge. As an assistant principal, I hope to serve our faculty, staff, students, parents, and community in ensuring that Cowan Road Middle School provides a safe, nurturing environment where teachers are excited about teaching and students are excited about learning. Thank you for this opportunity to serve and I look forward to our work together.
